Attune to Frequencies Present in Trance, through Rhythm and Ritual Dance.

If you seek to know who you are, if you are searching for your true self…if you embrace actualizing potential…if you desire to feel the ecstasy of pure being…this February 2012, 21 individuals will commune in commitment to 4 days of self-exploration and transformative healing with Gnawa Sufi Healer Lyna Monfray and Percussion Alchemist Greg Ellis.

RhythmPharm and THC (The Human Company) invite you to experience freedom from conditioned thoughts and feelings through Ritual Trance and Dance.

Lovingly wise guidance by Moroccan Sufi healer Lyna Monfray, coupled with gently ferocious percussive soundscapes created live by drummer Greg Ellis, opens those willing to vibrant energies uniquely accessible through the esoteric ritual of trance and dance. Within this nurturing environment, receive deeper knowing of your authentic self and become fully filled with transcendent bliss.

This 4-day experience comprising of two weekends in February (Feb. 11-12 and Feb. 18-19) presents an intriguing opportunity to delve into more complete understanding of the embodied mysteries dormant within our physical bodies. Inner work done within the first weekend will surface to be further clarified within the second weekend. As a result of five days between the two Trance and Dance sessions of the workshop, one’s experiential learning and healing potential becomes greatly enhanced, allowing for even further growth through masterfully facilitated altered states of consciousness.

Directly descended from the Gnawa Brotherhood, as a very young girl Lyna Monfray was introduced to rhythms and rituals of these masters of sound. From regions south of the Sahara, the Gnawas, one of the Sufi brotherhoods, represent a branch of healer musicians. They use musical rhythms to awaken and gradually raise the vibratory level of our senses and bodies. Traditional dance exercises shared by Lyna will work on the various organs: intestines, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, lungs and heart. These exercises stimulate trans-cellular memory to release stored trauma. The entire process leads up to perfectly controlled trance states, where physical, psychological and spiritual healing, cleansing and release occur. Lyna also lived in Tibet for two years, and was initiated by Tibetan monks into healing the human body with her hands. As a manual therapist, she follows a secular Tibetan tradition.

Through his work with some of the most realized Rhythmatists in the world, Master drummer and musician Greg Ellis has acquired a profound knowledge and awareness of indigenous rhythms and their effects on one’s physical and metaphysical being. Harnessing his vast collection of drums, gongs, and bowls, he creates powerful resonant frequencies that become a vehicle for transcendence. His instruments and style of playing balance masculine and feminine principles, mapping a space for pure being, where one releases the conditioned need to identify with intellectual forms and embraces the primacy of formless-ness. His rhythms, always organic and improvised, are driven by the group, and serve as a truly sustainable fuel source for generating energy. http://www.rhythmpharm.com for more information on RhythmPharm.
